Starting April 1, Lara Oral has joined the COINTEND team at the University of Twente as a PhD student.
Hello everyone!
My name is Lara, and I recently joined the COINTEND project as a new PhD student at the University of Twente, where I will be working on neuro-inclusive embodied technologies. I am 25 years old, originally from Türkiye, and have been living in the Netherlands for over 7 years.
My background has always combined the human and the technology sides, with a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my loved ones or on the dance floor, with partner dancing being a big hobby of mine. These experiences continue to teach me about connection – something that motivates my work in creating technologies that help people in building meaningful interactions, regardless of their different qualities and needs.
I am very excited to be a part of this project, especially as I previously explored this topic during my Master’s thesis and developed a strong interest in it. How can we codesign interactive technologies to create more neuro-inclusive interaction spaces? Through a project like COINTEND, which brings together diverse expertise and perspectives, I strongly believe that we can answer that and make a transformative impact together.
